The chief executive of Liberty Insurance Ireland, Patrick O'Brien, is to resign from the company at the end of the year.
Liberty Insurance, formerly Quinn Insurance, was taken over by US insurance giant Liberty Mutual three years ago. The company appointed Mr O'Brien as CEO to establish the company and brand in Ireland.
In a statement today, Liberty Mutual said that Tom McIlduff has been nominated as the company's new CEO, subject to approval from the Central Bank.
The company said that he will "spearhead" the next development phase of Liberty Insurance in Ireland.
Mr McIlduff was previously Managing Director of Europa General Underwriters in Northern Ireland and also held a number of senior roles for Bank of Ireland in the UK, including Chief Operating Officer.
His most recent work was with Boston Consulting Group in London.
Liberty Insurance Ireland's offices are based in Cavan, Dublin and Enniskillen.
