More than 10,900 days were lost to industrial disputes between July and September, according to the Central Statistics Office.
This was up 62% on the same period of 2013 and relates to four disputes over the three month period.
Two of the disputes began in the quarter, according to the CSO, while the two others were carried over from the April to June period.
The majority of the days lost - 7,150 - were in the industrial sector with a further 3,647 lost in the transport and storage sector.
The quarter would have covered the long-running dispute at Greyhound Recycling as well as a strike involving workers at Irish Rail.
The quarterly figure brings to 19,238 the total number of days lost to industrial disputes in the first nine months of this year.
This compares to 10,363 in the first nine months of 2013.
