Eircom has appointed Richard Moat as its new chief executive.
Mr Moat, who had been the company’s chief financial officer and executive director since 2012, replaces Herb Hribar, who stepped down from the position in September.
Mr Moat was made interim chief executive at that time and has now been appointed to the role on a permanent basis.
Before joining Eircom, Mr Moat was managing director of T-Mobile in Britain. He later served as chief financial officer of Everything Everywhere, which was formed following the merger of T-Mobile and Orange Mobile.
Eircom chairman Padraig McManus said Mr Moat had been “at the heart” of the company’s transformation in recent years and had “demonstrated the knowledge, experience and enthusiasm required to lead the company through the next phase of its journey”.
