Ryanair has announced plans to open a new base at Bratislava in Slovakia from March 2015. 

The airline will base two aircraft at the airport and will 16 routes through it – including a new three-flights-per-week connection to Madrid in Spain.

Ryanair already has a daily flight between Dublin and Bratislava, as well as well as a twice-daily service to London Stansted. 

The new base – Ryanair’s 71st – is expected to have 1m customers per year and will come as part of a $200m investment by the airline in Bratislava.
