More than 30 Irish companies are taking part in a four-day trade mission to Turkey, which begins today.
The mission, which is being organised by Enterprise Ireland and led by Minister of State Ged Nash, will visit Ankara and Istanbul over the coming week.
According to the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, trade between the two countries is worth €1.2bn per year, with 135 Irish-owned companies currently exporting to Turkey.
Enterprise Ireland opened an office in Istanbul earlier this year, as it is seen as a potential growth market for export-focused companies.
The 32 Irish companies taking part in the Turkish mission cover a range of sectors including aviation, telecommunications and ICT.
