Irish start-up Drop has raised $2m in seed funding for its baking-focused products.

The funding round was led by Dublin-based Frontline Ventures as well as Innovation Works, with additional funding coming from Cork-based PCH International, VegasTechFund and WI Harper Group.

Drop offers an interactive and customisable set of recipes online, which can be connected to via a mobile app and ‘smart’ kitchen scale.

The scale can connect to an iPad via Bluetooth and guides users through recipes, making changes and suggestions based on the ingredients available and the desired end results.

The firm is set to conclude its first round of preorders on the scale product, with its launch set to take place before the end of the year.
