A Galway-based start-up has secured €3m in funding for its medical technology.
Embo Medical, which has developed technology to halt blood flow in blood vessels, received the seed-funding from a number of firms including AIB, Irrus Investments and Enterprise Ireland.
The firm said the funding would help it to seek regulatory approval for its product ahead of a market launch.
Embo Medical’s technology is a less invasive method of embolisation, or the intentional blocking of a blood vessel.
It can be used to treat a number of conditions including cancer, internal haemorrhage and aneurysms.
