Monday mornings are the peak time for individuals to go job hunting, according to research from jobs website Indeed.com.

The research shows that the hours between 8am and 11am on a Monday morning are the most popular for looking for a new job.

The improving economy is also making workers more willing to look out for new jobs, it has found.

Indeed.com also says that the most popular time of the year to search for a new job is Autumn - September and October - while December is the least popular month. 

Unsurprisingly, it also says that Irish people are least likely to worry about their future career direction on Saturdays and Sundays.

The website has noted a 40% hear on year increase in job searches to August, with over 600,000 unique visitors now logging on to Indeed's Irish site very month. 140 million log on globally.

"It's very encouraging to see a year on year increase of 40% in the numbers of job seekers visiting the Irish site," commented Indeed Ireland's managing director Gerard Murnaghan.

"As the economic recovery gathers pace, and the rate of unemployment continues to edge downwards, we expect this growth to continue. We are also seeing employers looking to hire more talent and in the last year available roles on Indeed.ie have increased 12%," he added.
