Ryanair said its passenger numbers rose by 5% in September to reach a record level of 8.5 million.

The airline also said its load factor - how many seats it fills on each flight - rose last month from 85% to 90%.

Ryanair recently said that since the launch of its business class that it has had 2,500 bookings per day in the first week of the service being launched.
