Datalex has reported a 14% rise in revenue in the first half of the year as it gained new customers and expanded its presence in Asia.

The Irish firm, which develops ecommerce software for the airline industry, said it made $20.2m during the first six months of the year.

However costs rose by 13% during the same period, which held profit after tax to €600,000. This is still a significant improvement on the first six months of last year, however, when it earned €200,000.

In the past few months Datalex said it had signed a number of new customers including JetBlue Airways, Brussels Airlines and Air Transat.

The firm also opened a permanent office in Beijing, which it said would help it to grow its customer base in China.
