Aer Lingus said it carried 142,000 long haul passengers in July - an increase of 22% on the same month last year.
The airline's short haul passenger numbers rose by 2.1% to 928,000 last month.
Aer Lingus said its total traffic for the month - including passengers on its Aer Lingus Regional operations - rose by 6.2% to 1.212 million passengers compared to 1.14 million the same month last year.
But its load factor - how many seats it fills on each flight - eased to 87.3% from 87.9% in July of last year.
Aer Lingus said its short haul load factor fell by 1% to 84.9% from 85.9%, while its long haul load factor dipped to 90.8% from 91.4%.
