AIB says it has resolved a problem which caused a delay in the processing of payments coming in from other banks this morning.
The issue affected some payment transfers earlier today, but the banks says all payments should now have been applied to customer accounts.
A spokesperson for the bank not give a figure for how many customers had been affected by the problem.
The issue may have affected some recipients of social welfare payments, according to a spokesperson for the Department of Social Protection.
However the bank said all such payments were expected to have arrived in customers' accounts by 1pm.
