The Central Bank has warned about an unauthorised company operating as an investment firm in Ireland.
Ashland Mergers & Acquisitions Management (Japan) is not authorised as an investment firm in the country, according to the financial authority.
The Central Bank said it is a criminal offence for unauthorised firms to provide financial services in Ireland and consumers dealing with such a firm would not be eligible for compensation in the event of a problem.
If a member of the public had information relating to the firm, or wished to check if a firm was authorised in the State, the Central Bank said they should contact them on 01 224 4000.
