Kenny Jacobs has been appointed as chief marketing officer of Ryanair.
Mr Jacobs, who held the same position at online comparison site Moneysupermarket Plc, will take up the role at the airline next month.
It is part of a shift in Ryanair's marketing strategy, which recently saw it air a television advert for the first time in many years.
The announcement came as part of a number of changes to the airline's management team, which will all take effect from 1 February.
With the exception of Mr Jacobs' appointment, all of the other changes involve the movement of existing staff to new roles.
David O’Brien, who had been director of operations at Ryanair, will now become its chief commercial officer.
Meanwhile Michael Hickey, who had been director of engineering, will move into the role of group director of operations.
Adrian Dunne, who had served as deputy director of ground operations, will become director of operations at the airline.
In addition to this Peter Bellew will leave his role as deputy director of flight operations to become head of sales and marketing, replacing Lesley Kane who will now become the company’s head of groups and corporate sales.
A number of other staff will also move from being deputy directors to directors; including Derek Quinn, who will become director of engineering, Dara Brady who will is to be head of web development and Carol Sharkey who moves to the role of director of safety and security.
