The euro zone economy shrank by 0.3% year on year in the third quarter of 2013, less than the 0.4% contraction estimated earlier.

This is according to the European Union's statistics office as it issued its third and final revision of the data.              

Eurostat confirmed that quarter-on-quarter, the euro zone economy grew 0.1% in the three months to September after a 0.3% expansion in the second quarter.
