Swiss-Irish company Aryzta saw a 6.5% increase in revenues from its food business to €796.3m for the three months to the end of October.

Aryzta is one of the largest producers of bread and other baked goods in Europe.

In a trading update today, it said it managed the rise in revenues despite currencies, most notably the dollar, moving against it.

The company said that revenue in its Food Europe division grew strongly by 17.6% in the three month period - the company's first fiscal quarter - to €377.6m.

Its Food North America revenue slipped by 0.9% to €364.2m, while revenues in its Food West of the World division fell by 7.4% to €54.5m due to negative currency movements.

Aryzta said that its guidance for double digit earnings per share growth for the year remains unchanged.
