Property investment company Green REIT has confirmed that it is in “exclusive discussions” with Danske Bank over one of its Irish property portfolios.
Last week, news agency Bloomberg reported that the real estate investment trust was in talks to buy the majority of a portfolio which includes retail properties, offices and a parking facility.
It said Danske Bank was seeking up to €135 million for the entire portfolio.
Green REIT has confirmed that talks with the bank and Grant Thornton Ireland were underway but said that there was “no certainty that any transaction will occur”.
It said it would make further announcements “as appropriate”.
Stakeholders in Green REIT, which listed on the Irish Stock Exchange earlier this year, include billionaire John Paulson and US mutual fund manager Franklin Resources.
