Food company Glanbia has said it is in ongoing negotiations with staff members in its consumer brands section regarding restructuring.
The division employs 650 people in Ireland and it is expected there will be some job losses from the sector.
The company said a voluntary redundancy programme is in place, but added that there will be investments in certain areas as well as jobs growth in time.
The consumer brands division covers household products such as Avonmore dairy and Kilmeaden cheese.
