Home Retail Group saw revenues rise at its Homebase and Argos chains in the past three months, according to a trading statement from the company.
Revenue at Homebase rose 9.3% year-on-year in the 13 weeks to the end of August, while revenues at Argos were 2.4% higher.
The increases bring half year revenue at Argos to almost £1.72 billion, while Homebase generated £822 million in the six month period.
Home Retail Group cited favourable weather conditions as a factor in Homebase’s improved performance, with seasonal products performing particularly well.
Chief executive Terry Duddy also welcomed the fact that 17% of Argos’ sales were now made on mobile platforms.
He said the business approached the Christmas period “in good operational shape” and was on-track to delivery on long-term investment plans.
