Grafton Group has reported an operating profit of €68.4 million for the six months to the end of June.
The figure includes a once-off pension credit arising from a restructuring of the building merchant’s pension scheme.
Meanwhile underlying operating profit at the company increased 17% to €36.6 million.
Revenue was up 1.7% to €1.07 billion, although less favourable sterling exchange rates reduced this figure substantially as Britain accounts for 75% of its revenue.
The interim dividend has been increased 17% to 3.5 cent.
Grafton operates a number of building merchant brands, including Chadwicks and Heiton Buckley. It also runs Irish DIY chain Woodie's.
