New provisional figures from the Central Statistics Office show that production in manufacturing industries rose by 2.7% in June of this year compared to the same time last year.
The modern sector, which is made up of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed an increase of 6.5%, while the traditional sector rose by 6.8%.
On a monthly basis, production rose by 8% in June from May, the CSO added.
