The National Treasury Management Agency has successfully sold €500 million worth of three month Treasury Bills.

The bills were sold at an annual rate of 0.2%, compared to a rate of 0.129% secured in a similar auction last month.

Global bond yields have generally increased after the US Federal Reserve signalled its intention to ease off on its quantitative easing measures towards the end of the year.

The NTMA said today’s bond auction received total bids worth €1.46 billion – 2.9 times the amount on offer.
