Irish company Trustev has been named Europe’s top start-up by the European Commission’s Tech All Star Initiative.
The company, which helps to verify the identity of online merchants, was announced as winner of the award at an event in London yesterday evening.
Trustev gathers information from a user’s online presence along with other pieces of data to determine if they are who they claim to be.
The company is supported by Wayra Ireland, an accelerator programme run by telecoms firm Telefonica to help start-ups.
