The Institute of Directors in Ireland has elected Liam Daniel as its president.
He will serve a two-year term and replaces Tom Byrne who has held the position since June 2011.
Liam Daniel is a chartered director and chartered accountant. He was originally elected to the board of the Institute of Directors in Ireland in June 2010.
He is executive vice president and company secretary of Elan Corporation and has served in that role since December 2001.
Liam was previously financial director of Xtravision and before that, he held the position of head of finance of An Post for a period of three years.
The Institute also appointed Jane Williams to its board after she was formally elected at the Institute's AGM in Dublin this week. Ms Williams is managing director of the Sia Management Group and is also chairperson of the Irish Pensions Board.
