AIB has agreed to postpone the closure of its defined benefit pension scheme after the Labour Court sought details on the technical aspects of the bank’s plan.
The court has asked for reports on the scheme’s proposed closure from experts representing both AIB and the Irish Bank Officials' Association.
It asked for the reports to be submitted by 20 June, with the court set to reconvene on 24 June.
The IBOA has welcomed the bank’s decision to meet the Labour Court’s request, as it said the proposal required “very careful consideration”.
