A Dutch start-up is trying to make a "fair-trade" version of a mobile phone.
FairPhone is trying to find suppliers who are committed to improved working conditions.
It will then publish details on everything that went into the phone, from the source of the minerals used, to information on the Chinese factories assembling it.
The FairPhone team has come up with a concept Android phone which will launch later this year.
Retailing at €325 pre-tax, most will be sold through the company's website. The phone is designed to be easily recyclable and fixed, and can take two Sim cards.
