Meath County Council has purchased the former Quinn Insurance building in Navan as its new headquarters.

The local authority paid €5.15m for the building.

County Manager Brendan McGrath said the council was "extremely fortunate" to have purchased the building as it will meet the needs for the public and the local authority staff.

The Council's operations are currently spread over nine diffent locations in Navan alone.

The move into the former Quinn Insurance building will allow the local authority centralise its offices, saving over €765,000 a year on rent and maintenance.
