Digital content company Demand Media is setting up an office in Dublin, creating between 20 and 40 jobs this year.

The company, which runs websites like Livestrong.com and eHow as well as offering content management tools, is headquartered in California and has offices across the US, as well as in Canada, Britain and Argentina.

The cyclist Lance Armstrong made $4m in 2008 selling his Demand Media shares.

Its Dublin office, which is being opened with IDA assistance, will act as the company's international headquarters for its domain services business.

The company plans to hire staff in engineering, sales and marketing, IT, finance and customer support.
