Central Bank's director of enforcement to step down

The Director of Enforcement at the Central Bank, Peter Oakes, has announced that he is stepping down from the role after just over two years.

He said he was taking the opportunity to pursue other interests.

Peter Oakes established a new enforcement function at the Central Bank in October 2010.

In a statement, Deputy Governor Matthew Elderfield wished Mr Oakes well in his future endeavours and expressed his gratitude at the work he carried out in developing the bank's enforcement function.
