The airline will invest over $70m at Zadar airport - Ryanair's 54th base and its first in Croatia - and will base one aircraft there.

It also announced seven new routes from the airport to Dublin, East Midlands, Gothenburg, Haugesund, Liverpool, Paris and Wroclaw.

This means that Ryanair will fly on a total of 16 routes from Zadar.
