Kernel Capital has led a €1m investment in a company called SolarPrint through the Bank of Ireland Seed and Early State Equity Fund.
The Dublin-based company develops high performance indoor energy harvesting technology.
Its technology enables the deployment of wireless devices that improve energy management in buildings and reduces energy consumption.
Buildings account for over 40% of the world's total energy usage.
It has 17 full time employees and was founded in 2008 by Dr Mazhar Bari, Andre Fernon and Roy Horgan. It is supported by Enterprise Ireland.
