Jameson sales reach 4 million cases worldwide

Global sales of Jameson Irish Whiskey has reached annual levels of four million cases.

The whiskey is made by Irish Distillers, which is owned by Pernod Ricard. It said this figure includes the sale of over one million cases in the US alone.

This is the single largest market for the distilled whiskey.

Jameson is sold in over 120 markets and its sales volume increased by 15% last year.

The US market saw growth of 29%, while key markets such as Russia and South Africa also ''enjoyed huge success,'' the company said.

The whiskey has been distilled in Midleton, Co Cork since 1975. A recent €100m investment made by Irish Distillers to expand the distillery in order to cater for future growth is now operating at full capacity.
