The Central Bank has issued a warning over two unauthorised investment firms which are operating in the country.

Goff Private Equity Limited has been acting as an investment firm in Ireland, however the Central Bank said it is not authorised to do so.

The bank said that Talisman Finance has also been offering investment services in the country without authorisation.

It is a criminal offence to operate as an investment firm in Ireland without Central Bank approval and customers of such companies do not have access to the Investor Compensation Scheme in the event of the firms' failure.

The Central Bank maintains a list of unauthorised firms operating in Ireland on its website.
