€20m expansion of Drogheda shopping centre approved by NAMA

Edward Holdings has reached agreement with NAMA on a major expansion of the Scotch Hall Shopping Centre in Drogheda town.

Edward Holdings, the Galway-based development company, is headed by Gerry Barrett.

NAMA will finance a €20m cinema, restaurant and retail complex to boost business at the six-year-old Scotch Hall shopping centre.

The development is expected to employ in excess of 150 people pre and post-construction.

The extension will include an eight-screen cinema with a capacity for 1,500 people, a food court with five units and seating capacity for over 450, a major new shop unit and another 300 parking spaces.

Work is expected to start on the site early next year and is scheduled for completion by the third quarter of 2014.
