ICON has reported a 19% increase in revenue in the third quarter compared to the same time last year of $286m.

It has also announced that it is withdrawing from the Irish stock exchange and going ahead with a full listing on the NASDAQ.

The Irish firm, which conducts clinical trials and development projects for pharmaceutical companies, reported year to date income from operations of $49.3m of net revenue.

This compares to $32.6m the same time last year.

Chief executive Ciaran Murray said he is happy with the company's progress so far in 2012.

He said: "We have recorded $1.5 billion of gross bookings in the first three quarters of the year, produced 16% growth in revenue year to date and our margin recovery continues to go to plan."

ICON employs 9,280 people worldwide, with 800 at its global headquarters in Dublin and in an ICON office in Limerick.
