Technology company EMC has reported third quarter revenues of $5.28 billion, up 6% on the same time last year.
The company, which employs 2,700 people in Cork and Dublin, said its net profits for the third quarter rose to $626.3m from $605.6m a year earlier.
EMC said the Irish market continues to perform strongly for the company.
Its country manager Jason Ward noted that EMC had secured new clients during the year including BT, Element Six, Dairygold, the Dublin Institute of Technology, Louth County Council and the Beacon hospital.
''The innovative business our Irish workforce has helped us to build is at the nexus of three top-trending themes in global IT - cloud, big data and trust,'' commented Bob Savage, vice-president and managing director of EMC's Centre of Excellence in Cork.
The company's chairman and chief executive, Joe Tucci, said that the company's third quarter revenues and profit growth reflect the resiliency of its business in a more uncertain global economic environment.
''We remain very well positioned to capitalise on - and drive - the transformative trends of cloud computing, big data and trusted IT,'' he added.
