General Electric's net income rose 49% in the third quarter to $3.49 billion as its recovery from the 2008 financial crisis continues.
Revenue at the company rose $1 billion, or 3%, to $36.35 billion.
GE earned 33 cents per share in the quarter, up from 22 cents per share during the same period last year.
When adjusted to remove the effect of restructuring costs and a gain from the sale of NBC, the company posted earnings of 36 cents per share, which is what analysts had expected.
