Morgan Stanley has been admitted to the Irish Stock Exchange as a Primary Dealer in Irish government bonds.
Its membership brings to seventeen the number of Primary Dealers which trade on the ISE.
The main role of the Primary Dealer is to continuously make markets in Irish Government Bonds as well as participating in bond and bill issuance organised by the National Treasury Management Agency.
Morgan Stanley is a global financial services firm with market positions in investment banking and institutional sales and trading.
Brian Healy, Director of Traded Markets at the ISE, said the recognition of Morgan Stanley as a Primary Dealer confirmed the strong and growing international interest in participating in the market for Irish Government bonds and bills.
'The firm’s global reach will bring additional distribution and even further liquidity to the Irish Government Bond and bill market,' he said.
