Claire Grady has been appointed editor of the Evening Herald with immediate effect.
Ms Grady had previously been executive editor of the Evening Herald and before that she held the position of assistant editor at the paper.
She began her career in journalism with the Mayo News and the Connacht Telegraph. She also worked at the Tallaght Echo and the Irish Independent.
She then joined the Sunday Tribune as a news reporter before being appointed that paper's deputy news editor.
She rejoined Independent Newspapers in 2006 as assistant News Editor with the Irish Independent.
The Evening Herald is owned by Independent Newspapers (Ireland) Ltd.
