Bord na Móna chairman-designate John Horgan has said he has every confidence in the company's CEO Gabriel D'Arcy.
Offaly Fianna Fáil TD Barry Cowen told an Oireachtas Committee that unions at Bord na Móna have circulated a motion of no confidence in the CEO.
John Horgan, who is appearing before the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Transport and Communications said that he does not accept the motion.
He told the Committee that the company is facing a crisis because of the bad weather's effect on this year's harvest.
Barry Cowen said that unions at the semi-state company are seeking to have the motion on Gabriel D'Arcy brought before the company's board.
He said that morale among the staff is not high because of the present economic difficulties the company faces.
He also rejected suggestions there were allegations of widespread bullying in the firm and said that he had every confidence in the ability of Gabriel D'Arcy to successfully manage the semi-state peat company out of its present difficulties.
He told the Committee that the company is facing a crisis because of the bad weather's effect on this year's harvest.
