The US multinational games company, Electronic Arts, has announced a further 300 jobs for Galway.
The new jobs are part of an expansion of the company's customer service centre in the IDA Business Park in the city. The Taoiseach made the announcement in Dublin this lunchtime.
The 300 new jobs will provide multilingual international support for online game titles such as FIFA and Medal of Honour.
The announcement comes less than a year since Electronic Arts invested in Ireland for the first time with the setting up of a facility in Galway.
There are currently 400 people employed at the Bioware division of EA in Parkmore West. Recruitment begins immediately for the additional 300 jobs announced today.
The Taoiseach said this further investment by EA is a real endorsement of Ireland's ability to meet the needs of leading multinationals in the digital industry.
The company's Chief Operations Officer, Peter Moore, said the Galway centre would be the global customer base on a 24/7 basis.
