SumUp to create 40 jobs in Dublin

40 new jobs are being created in Dublin as the SumUp company sets up its customer, technical support and development centre in the city.

SumUp's products help small businesses overcome issues with accepting credit and debit card payments. The company is supported by IDA Ireland.

Recruitment for the jobs are already underway.

''The launch of SumUp's technology in Ireland has proven to be very successful,'' commented the company's chief executive Daniel Klein.

He said that a lot of small businesses are operating within very tight margins and can not afford to lose out on making a sale because they can't process a card payment. ''I am very enthused about the establishment of SumUp's Irish operation and I look forward to its growth and development in Dublin,'' he said.

Launching the jobs, the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton, said the announcement by SumUp is very welcome. He said it is further evidence that Ireland is a key location for dynamic technology companies operating in fast-growing sectors of the industry.

IDA Ireland's chief executive Barry O'Leary said the SumUp company is a very exciting addition to the cluster of emerging businesses that have chosen to base themselves in Dublin over the past few months.

''Ireland is fast building a solid reputation as a country which emerging and high-growth companies can use to internationalise themselves at an early stage. SumUp joins a number of other German companies, at this stage of development, which have established operations in Ireland'', he said.
