French government injects €5 bn into CCCIF bank

The French government has put up to €5 billion to bail out struggling home lender CCCIF.

The bank has been in difficulty for some time and last week the ratings agency Moody's cut its rating by three notches making it nearly impossible for CCCIF to raise fresh funds to repay its debts.

The bank has about €30 billion in outstanding loans and employs 2,500 people across 300 branches.
