Eason is to create 50 jobs in four new franchise stores opening this year.
The company is opening in the Parkway Shopping Centre, in Limerick, following the store in Listowel, Co. Kerry, earlier this year and hopes to open in Letterkenny and Fermoy by the end of 2012.
The store openings are a new franchise strategy developed as part of a €20m investment programme announced last year.
Conor Whelan, Eason Managing Director, said that the company hopes to have 30 franchise stores open by 2014. The company opened four last year.
The store opened in the Parkway Shopping Centre in Limerick is the third store to be operated by Eamon Fahey who also operates franchise stores in Ballina and Castlebar.
Eason has a turnover of over €250m and employs over 1,000 people in 60 stores throughout Ireland.
