The New York Times will pay an annual base salary of $1m to newly appointed CEO Mark Thompson.
This is according to a regulatory filing made by the company today.
Mr Thompson, who joined the company from the BBC on Tuesday, is also entitled to get an equity sign-on bonus of $3m, the filing said.
