Homecare provider Bluebird Care has announced the creation of 335 new jobs across the country over the next six months.

The company already announced 175 of the jobs last month in Counties Wicklow, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo. 

The positions are for care assistants and support workers nationwide.

Cavan, Monaghan & Louth will receive the most amount of positions with 80 new jobs.

Bluebird Care was set up in Ireland in 2007 with one office.

It now 18 offices and employs nearly 800 people.

The franchise company is one of a number of HSE approved home care providers.

Operations Director with Bluebird Care Eddie O Toole says, "The creation of a further 510 positions will help us fill the increased demand for home care services in Ireland. A recent report by the Carer's Association suggests that in order to manage the current carer to cared-for population ratios, Ireland will need an additional 44,289 carers by 2021.

Cambus Teo create 50 jobs in Galway

In Galway, Cambus Teo, a medical device company based in Spiddal, has announced 35 new positions.

It currently employs over 50 people.
