The UK Competition Appeal Tribunal has today dismissed Ryanair's appeal against the Competition Commission's jurisdiction to investigate their minority shareholding in Aer Lingus.
This follows their bid for the whole company and likely European Commission investigation.
The judgment was handed down today and an order disposing of the application made. The main hearing took place on Friday, July 27.
In a statement, Aer Lingus welcomed the decision.
The company said: "We note yet another of Ryanair's attempts to stop both this investigation and the previous Office of Fair Trading investigation has been rejected.
"Aer Lingus looks forward to assisting the Competition Commission in its ongoing investigation into the anti-competitive effects of Ryanair's minority shareholding," it added.
