Eircom names Hribar as new chief executive

Eircom has appointed Herb Hribar as its new group chief executive, replacing outgoing CEO Paul Donovan.

Mr Hribar has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry in the US and Europe.

He was president of Ameritech Wireless in the US, managing director of Kabel Deutschland, Europe’s largest cable operator and chief operating officer of Cablecom in Switzerland.

The company also said today that it had appinted Richard Moat as its new group chief financial officer.

He was most recently managing director of T-Mobile UK and deputy CEO and CFO of Everything Everywhere.

Both men will be appointed to the boards of Eircom Holdco and Eircom Holdings (Ireland) Limited and will take up their roles in early September.

In June, the three Eircom companies placed under examinership in March successfully exited examinership. The three companies were Eircom Limited, Meteor Mobile Communications Limited and Irish Telecommunications Investments Limited.

The company put in place a simplified capital structure and a new holding company -Eircom Holdings (Ireland) Limited - was created. The equity is wholly owned by the group's lenders.
