UPC Ireland added 115,400 new customers in the second quarter of the year to bring its total customer base to 945,200.

This is up 14% on the same time last year. The broadband, communications and digital television provider said it saw a 25% increase year on year to its broadband subscriptions which now total 283,400.

The company also reported a big increase in its home phone subscriptions in the second quarter of 2012, which jumped 69% to 205,800.

It also said that it has 333,200 digital television customers by the end of June.

In May, UPC launched its OnDemand TV entainment service. The launch came after the company's invested €500m in its fibre powered network. On Demand TV was launched in Dublin and is now available in Cork, Galway, Limerick, Waterford, Shannon and Naas.
