Aer Lingus and Etihad Airways have signed a code-share agreement and are discussing further cooperation.
It is planned that Aer Lingus will cooperate with Etihad on flights between Abu Dhabi and Dublin.
Aer Lingus will have full access to flights across the network beyond Abu Dhabi to destinations including Australia, Asia-Pacific, the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East.
Etihad will also cooperate with Aer Lingus on services to 18 destinations, including Dublin to New York, Boston, London, Amsterdam, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh.
The new arrangement will start in the third quarter of this year.
Etihad bought a 3% stake in Aer Lingus in May as a precursor to a commercial tie-up to help Abu Dhabi's flagship carrier gain more European routes.
